Some days only bring fury, disappointment, and regret. The answer isn’t in compositional confidence or experimental trappings, but in noise as catharsis: the ability to dissect, abuse and cauterize sound in a way where relief is the immersion in noise made from the ruins of the sounds which fed it.
“Absolute Class War” is the product of Jason Crumer obliterating the already fractured and unsettled experimentations of DJ EOF, a trans-Atlantic collaboration finding shared release in torching the shards of compositional detritus with withering noise electronics. The outcome is 24 or so minutes of unsettled and fragmented harsh noise with an intensity, pace and unpredictability found in the best of the Mother Savage, Release, Self Abuse and Xerxes catalogues.
